skullAUK Posted November 15, 2009 Share Posted November 15, 2009 Hi all, I'm attempting to dual boot a MacBook 2,1 (Late 06) with OSX 10.6 and Ubuntu 9.10. I've gone all the way through an install of ubuntu 9.10 by the book; made a partition of empty space at the end of my HDD using diskutil, ran through the installer (using largest cont. free space) put grub on "sda3". Ubuntu Setup finishes, spits out the disk, then restarts. rEFIt appears and I run partition tool to sync the partition tables. That's when it halts and says it "wont touch the disk" because there's an unknown partition type in the GPT. System then just reboots, rEFIt shows the apple logo and the (bootcamp stylee) windows logo. Only OSX will boot (thank goodness), but Ubuntu wont. There's no error message, just stays with grey screen and windows logo indefinitely. I've had a look around and cant find any other posts pertaining to this specific error. Please would any of you wonderful people shed some light on this for me? Many thanks, sA.
