wobbleyhead Posted November 12, 2009 Share Posted November 12, 2009 Hi All, I've currently got an up and running system with the following specs 2x500gb Maxtor HDD's 512mb GT8500 gfx card 2GB ram Intel E5200 processor Ga-73PVM-S2H motherboard I installed from iDeneb 10.5.6 using the vanilla kernel and the nforce ethernet drivers and the kext for the gfx card and the audio The system is stable and reliable and accepts all updates from apple without a problem. I'm now looking at upgrading some of the hardware, namely the processor to a Q9550 and the ram to 4GB. I'm sure the ram won't have anyeffect on the system apart from general betterness but the main question is the processor. Is this processor natively supported in the mac kernel or will I have to reinstall the os with a different kernel? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
