Don't know, but if someone installs on AMD Can they confirm it's safe to update?

Anyway, im downloading now.. i'll keep you updated.

Downloading it now on my P5Q, my config (now, before updating) is almost perfect (exluding sleep and powerstate).

I will report back later... If my config will still be bootable ! :)

I'm downloading the chubby one (500 MB!!) from Apple System Update, nothing more, nothing less.

Like a regular Apple user, he will get notification and he will install the update! :)

WTF it's more like a Service Pack, I already was @ 10.6.1. 500 gb it's an enormity for a system update.

Also if your on AMD, Itunes and stuff will crash when you open it, you need to repatch your cpuid using marvins tools.

You have to use os86 tools, click back up or restore, back it up, name it mach_backup_kernel save it to your installation drive, and when it comes up the bootloader without inverted commas type "mach_backup_kernel"

just delete sleepenabler.kext and Software Update should work fine.

I updated to 10.6.2.

ASUS P5QL-E here, vanilla install with flash disk method, chameleon2 rc3.

After update I got kernel panic in dsmos.

Booted in WinXP, deleted dsmos.kext from /Extra and now everything works (or so it seems)!

What are the consequences of deleting dsmos.text??

I discovered the sleepenabler problem by myself, then I discovered... that I don't need nullcpupowermanagement and sleepenabler! since 1) i'm on vanilla, so reboot and shutdown works even without openhalt 2) sleep doesn't work at all (it never worked for me) ;)

So, success for me, I only had to reboot under the leopard installation disk to delete sleepenabler.

Retail installation do really pays off, guys!

For me, no "modding" kext under /system/library/extension.

Appleacpips2nub, fakesmc v2, ioahciblockstorage, uuid, voodoops2controller inside Extra.

I still can hear my sound (voodooHDA), system profiler still working.

P.s. posting from a full x64 kernel :)

Replying to myself here, I think fakesmc.kext nullifies the need for dsmos.kext. Is this right, or am I missing something here???
