Oblivion Mac Plugin Problems

So I downloaded the GotY Edition of Oblivion and followed all of the instructions online regarding creating the plugins and DLC files. However the only plugin I got working is the Shivering Isles.

I am thinking if I did something wrong with the aforementioned two files than the Shivering Isles shouldn´t work either, should they?

 

I hope someone figured out the solution to that problem. According to some comments I am not the only one that has that problem.

You've already installed them right?

 

Here is how mine look like the path of mine is "/Users/HiTHisIsMyAccount/Library/Preferences/The\ Elder\ Scrolls\ IV\ Oblivion\ Preferences/p_drive/User/Local\ Settings/Application\ Data/Oblivion"

 

In this folder I have 2 txt files. If there are none, make then using TextEdit.

The Oblivion_Deutsch_v3_00.esp is the update to oblivion, I recommend it, some add-ons don't work unless you have this update or better. And the map is fullscreen now, best part.

 

To add add-ons, usually you just drag and drop into the appropriate folder. Like the Oblivion/Date folder.

 

I hope this helps you further.

 

The main plugins like shivering isle, knight of the nine etc I installed on the windows side since it had an installer, the others I just dragged and dropped.

How about a quick test, Do the addons work on your pc side?

 

Another work around is, install all the addons on bootcamp side and copy the DLCList.txt and Plugins.txt to your "/Users/ThisIsStillMyAccount/Library/Preferences/The\ Elder\ Scrolls\ IV\ Oblivion\ Preferences/p_drive/User/Local\ Settings/Application\ Data/Oblivion" folder this way you cannot make any mistakes. I will be adding 1 more addon (1,5 GB) LordKain Adash today. I can either use the pc side or the mac side install.

 

Anyways before I was able to enalbe the addons I followed the directions, and immediately all the messages appear that this and that plugin was enabled or activated, or after I sleep the first time I immediately went to "der alptraum" land. So if the plugins worked, you will notice it. But please check if they work on the pc side, if they do, then use the copy and paste command. I use oblivion cider to play on the pc side, so its the same copy as the mac side.

First of all, I really wanna say thanks for helping me out so much, even if we are not making much progress ^_^

 

It´s like this: Bought Oblivion back in 2006 in German but couldn´t really play it very well, since my notebook back then was just not cut for a game like Oblivion. Last christmas I got a macbook and last month I remembered Oblivion and decided I wanted to play it again. So I searched the internet and found there is no official Mac version and I really didn´t want to go to the trouble of getting a hold of a Windows copy aso. so I was overjoyed when I stumbled upon the Oblivion GOTY torrent on thepiratebay. Downloaded it, checked all the articles online and... yeah. At first none of the plugins worked, none of the mods I tried out worked, except for some reason that dual wield mod and then the orrery mod suddenly activated itself.

 

Later, when I was nearly done with all the main vanilla quests I wanted to play shivering isles only to find the island not there despite having received the quest entry. After a couple of days that problem was suddenly fixed when I filled out the DLS file in the Oblivion folder. And now that´s the only plugin thats functioning properly and I would really like to play KotN next but so far, no luck...

What version of cider are you using, mine is 2097 ported by zero, it runs perfect except for pauses when music changes, so I turned music off. Since your topic I've been playing Oblivion ever since. The new version of cider I had problems with, so Im happy with this version. Im also are using the german version. I installed most of the mods with mac and then copied them to the pc pref folder so I can also play on pc. What cider version are you using? Or try the cider version Im using. The main quest were installers so I had to use the pc to install the mods like shivering isle, knight of the nine and some others. And make sure like Knight of the Nine "Knights.esp" are both spelled the same in the oblivion folder and in the DLCList.txt and Plugins.txt file. I use Oblivion Deutsch v3.00 as the version of oblivion.
