ATV forgetting Resolution

for several weeks now (when i updated to 2.4) i do have a problem with atv forgetting the resolution. whenever i set it to something greater than 480 it works fine. after reboot or finder restart atv resets the resolution to 480i.

 

i have the atv connected via composite to my sony 40d300 tv.

 

any ideas?
