Ill let the pix do the talking. first was the wiring up of front panel and fans. Next we somewhat dismantled the case and lined up the mac standoffs to suit a matx board. Everything lined up ok And then heres the finsihed case. The main aim was to retain the stock look externally as much as possible. Think we did ok And the system specs for anyone that is interested. Case & Powersupply - Apple G5 MacPro case & OCZ Modxtreme 600w psu Motherboard - DFI Lanparty Jr P45 T2Rs CPU - e8400 Ram - Mushkin redlines DDR2-1000 2 x 2gb Graphics - Asus 4850 & Gigabyte 4850 x-fired Sound - On board, logitech 5.1 system Harddisk Setup - 2 x 36gb raptors (OS) & 3 x 320gb sataII drives (storage) - Raid 0 Cooling solutions - Thermaltake True 120 extreme Current Modifications/Overclocks : CPU at 4.4Ghz. I want to do this with mine. Can you please explain your work and show pictures too as I am a visual learner Hey all.. I got a normal power cable and cut one end off and soldiered the connector u see on the back of the case on the end. that way i can have it looking like mine is. Nothing overly complicated to take pix of really. bonestonne Posted December 7, 2009 Share Posted December 7, 2009 can people not quote entire posts with so many images? it makes it a nightmare to read these topics.. on topic: if you wired up the two rear 80mm fans, why sandwich the 120mm there? removing that fan would make the rear fans more effective. any plans to fix up the back panel like others? Nish Posted April 28, 2010 Author Share Posted April 28, 2010 haha thanks. It was a VERY budget build and the main cost was the actual case (which actually just cost me a doz of beer). Regarding finishing up the rear panel, Im not too sure if i will bother with finishing it up to be honest. Since you dont even see it at all. Im in the process of upgrading the hardware to an i7 setup. But so far the temps on the overclocked have been nice and low with the amount of airflow through this case.
