errandwolfe Posted June 5, 2006 Share Posted June 5, 2006 I have continued to have this problem through all the betas of Parallels. Now on RC2 and its driving me buggy becuase I can't seem to find the cause. No matter if I use IE or Firefox, websites simply will not load. It finds the hosts, and seems to be doing fine, but it winds up at just "Waiting for x" where x is the domain name and then eventually just gives me a Page can not be displayed. I am using bridged networking. I am able to communicate with LAN PC's and Macs no problem. Any ideas? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Like you, I've tried multiple versions mutliple times and never been successful. I find it hard to believe that its like this for everyone but for the life of me, I cannot see that I'm doing anything wrong. For what its worth, this is on a homemade Mac (Dell Optiplex GX620). I am getting a DHCP address and I can ping my local servers from within Parallels. However, if I try to open a web page, even a local one, I get it to barely load (such as setting the correct background color) and then it locks up. Joining a domain is impossible as is connecting to a local server's share (\\servername\sharename) from within XP. Same happens with Windows 2003 Server, by the way. Very, very odd. I'm on a Hackintosh, with an Intel 2200 series wireless card. The card, as many of you may know, is not supported or hacked yet in OS X. So I have no wireless under my OS X, just ethernet internet. My plan was to install XP under Parallels to get wireless through XP for when I needed it... but I can't get XP under Parallels to pick up my wireless card. My assumption is that Parallels will only support hardware that has been detected in the already existing OS X installation, is that true? Or can I load Parallels, get into Windows XP, and somehow install my Intel 2200 wireless card? I tried installing the drivers but it did nothing as the card was not detected, the add new hardware wizard failed as well. Thanks for any help you can give!
