I've been playing Diablo 2 on the Dell Mini 10v with a gig of RAM and while it's playable, there are sometimes small lag spikes, usually around a large crowd of enemies. It runs fine on way lower ended hardware so I'm wondering how to get it to play perfectly.

Try asking Blizzard to re-compile the binary as Intel.. Diablo II was only ever released on the Mac as a PPC binary. The game is being used through an emulation layer for PPC - Intel code called Rosetta.. it's not a native Intel game.

That's why it's slow.
