Hi - I'm new on insanelyMac but I've been using an hackintosh for a while now.

I was on a 10.5.5, I bought the Snow Leopard Update from Apple Store ( I have the CD - for about 30 $ ) and I tried to install the update using this tutorial : http://www.insanelymac.com/2009/08/how-to-...-pc-hackintosh/

But... then, when I booted, I got a "Still waiting for boot device" or something like that - I also got an error on step 5, the installation process showed "Could not install some files ... ".

Now I just reinstalled a 10.5.2 (without having updated anything because I want to go directly to Snow) and I want to know WHERE can I find a tutorial on how to install Snow or to update my Leopard.

Here are my specs :

-> Motherboard : Asus P5B Delux

-> CPU : Intel 4 cores 2.66 Ghz.

-> RAM : 4 GB DDR2

-> Hard Disks : 1 000 Gb WD @ 7200 RPM (the one where is installed my current Leo) and a 150 Gb WD @ 10 000 RPM empty (I'm gonna install XP on it to play a few games).

I have no problems with the sound or the graphical engine but I just want to know how did you guys updated to snow leopard, do you have a good tutorials working ? Please...

PS : If note : could you link me to a 10.5.8 combo update working please... on insanelymac they says that I have to install the updates like any other mac users but I don't believe that...

There are dozens of superb tutorials in these forums. You really need to look around a bit!!!

Seriously, you will not get useful replies to posts like that! Just look around and use the search and look in the 'install' forum and the 'Genius Bar'.

i don't know about the upgrade dvd but i was able to install full retail with the tutorial Ichixgo mentioned. all i had to do was add VoodooHDA.kext to the KEXT folder before i started running the scripts. the attached file is what i have on my efi partition to have it running but you have to add you own video efi string to the boot.plist

EFI.zip
