Andrew James
I installed 10.6 on my gigabyte ep45-ud3lr with no problems following the lifehacker guide. Took a while to get the audio working, but found some 64 bit kexts and that did the trick. I have just one problem now. File sharing is not working. I can get on the internet as is clear from this post, but i cannot share files between the other computers on my network and most of the time it won't even see the other mac. It sometimes sees the windows machines, but I cannot connect to them. I tried the realtekr1000 kext, but to no avail. This could be because I am running the SL at 64 bit. my 10.5.8 setup works fine. My file sharing is checked and I have no problems with that. Any suggestions? Thanks

I previously had 10.5.8 with everything working, then upgraded to 10.6 (then 10.6.1) following the lifehacker guide....now i can't get my network shares working even with internet working fine. my motherboard is actually a EP45-UD3R....not P like the lifehacker guide... hopefully we can figure this out cuz my wife is kinda pissed that our streaming media isn't working! ha Thanks, Johnny
