Does anyone have any problems with their fans coming on during the night while their Machine is sleeping with 10.6.1? This is a problem I didn't have with Leopard 10.5.8. My machine usually sleeps, auto-sleeps, wakes with no problems except occasionally the fans will come on sometime during sleep and I can't recover. I'd say it happens once every few days.

Perhaps it's a network issue. I have sleep issues with a new Mac Mini that wakes randomly when I have "Wake for network access" check in the Energy Saver prefs. It also refuses to auto sleep.

Anyone have any ideas? I'm going to comb through the logs to see if there is any sign of a kernel panic or some activity. Just wanted to put the feelers out there.

Update:

After checking the Console it seems this may be part of the problem:

9/27/09 2:19:03 PM	kernel	Wake reason = RTC
9/27/09 2:19:03 PM	kernel	RTC: maintenance alarm 2009/9/27 18:19:02, sleep 2009/9/27 16:19:03
9/27/09 2:19:03 PM	kernel	System Wake

I'm going to disable "Wake for network access" and see if the random waking stops. It seems that "Wake for network access" will automatically wake your computer every two hours in order to report it's existence. I'm not sure this is such a great feature. I'd rather have Apple revert back to WOL.
