Newbie post - mobo equivalents based on genius guides

Hi folks. Keen to try my hand at hackintosh and comfortable with steps etc required but rather bewildered by the mobo stuff. Part of the issue is that in Australia getting the boards is a little tricker.

The guide that looks right up my alley is the GA-EP45-DS3L guide at http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=178292 but that I can't seem to find that board online in Au.

Is there a worthwhile equivalent that will give the same results? The online retailer I'm using is at

http://www.mwave.com.au/newAU/mwaveAU/cate...ARCH&rpp=50

So any suggestions welcome and appreciated. I can get a EX58-UD5 but that's way to overkill for wat I need

Cheers,

Graeme

I run snow on a GA-G31-ES2L and its for the most part 100% compatible (minus the onboard video) with leopard and snow leopard. Onboard ethernet, sound, etc all work as does sleep, restart, shutdown, etc with a DSDT file. There are plenty of guides available for this board. Lots of people on the forums use this one, so help is easy to come by, and the store you want to use carries it here : http://www.mwave.com.au/newAU/mwaveAU/prod...mp;sku=28022992

Unless you plan on running more than 4 gigs of ram, its a good board to go with.
