Hiya   Everyone.

Im new on this forum, so this gonna be my first post here.

Ive got a trouble with my ASUS P5QL/EPU motherboard. Im gonna install Snow Leopard Retail on my PC, and as i understood this kind of motherboards needs Pathed BIOS (BIOS from another editions of P5Q motherboards not works).

Does anyone had the same problem, and how did you fix it?

Oi mate, got same board. Installed iPC 10.5.6 fine as per guide on here somewhere.

Would like to install SL, I sent the guy with the bios website a dollar to patch P5QL/EPU BIOS, but he hasn't, he's dissapeared I think, sat on a beach somewhere drinking cocktails paid for by all us BIOS wanters no doubt.

So I dunno what to do, I'm sure its possible to install with a modded DSDT or the other thing, if you try that lemme know how it goes and if I get round to it I'll post up what happens here.

Edit, just checked 10.6 wiki & someones got er working, have a look.

I wanted to thank you for the guide. This motherboard really needs a Bios Mod in my opinion. I got iPC to work but had issues with everything else.

I hope it get a Bios mod soon because I still have it. I might go ahead a run a single processor off it.

Doesn't really need a bos mod, especially if you're using snow leopard. If you want a modded DSDT though post yours here and I can mod it for you.

Can use DSDTSE to extract your DSDT http://www.kexts.com/view/143-dsdt_simple_...support%29.html

Sweaty...hopefully you are still an active member. The files I got from your usb boot stick is the only thing that gets me away from the "Using 16384 buffer headers and 4096 cluster IO buffer headers" freeze up.

So far I have a VERY stable installation of ideneb and got the snow leopard retail install to work on second partion. My usb wifi stick is working (netgear wg111 v2), the distro boots without cpus=1 and idenb recognizes both cores on my 2.9 processor. The graphic card works great, and ran warcraft nice and fast (don't laugh, I NEED this game!). The only problem I have is that it takes FOREVER to load. I mean F O R E V E R. Maybe 20 minutes.

Is there some kind of patch that won't destroy everything else on the system that will load ideneb quicker? I have all the bios settings the same as posted on this forum for this board. Also...is it worth trying to upgrade to snow with ideneb? Is there a safe way to do it for this board?

Running 10.6.3 x64 on the P5QL-EPU + C2DE6750 ON 3,2GHZ OC.

Only DSDT + Cameleon. the Kexts from "myhack" are working well. Only IONetworking, fakesmc and PS2 kexts needed.
