Swad
http://www.parallels.com/en/download/desktop/ HERNDON, Virginia – May 31st, 2006 – Parallels (www.parallels.com) today announced the immediate availability of the release candidate 2 (RC2) of Parallels Desktop for Mac, the first virtualization software that gives Apple users the ability to simultaneously run Windows, Linux or any other operating system and their applications in a stable, secure high-performing, virtual machine alongside Mac OS X on any Intel-powered Apple computer. RC2 is the final release in the product’s multi-stage Beta program that has generated more than 100,000 testers from 71 countries. It resolves technical issues and improves overall virtual machine performance as well as the functionality of a number of important features, including file sharing and cutting/pasting between operating systems, networking, USB device support and sound and video playback. As part of Parallels’ commitment to simplicity, and in response to many user requests, the company has integrated Parallels Compressor Server - a powerful management tool that can reduce the size of Windows 2000, XP or 2003 virtual hard disks by 50% or more - directly into Parallels Desktop. The enhanced product will be available for sale at $79.99, $150 less than the cost of buying stand-alone copies of Parallels Desktop for $49.99 and Parallels Compressor Server for $179.99. As an extended promotion, Parallels plans to offer the enhanced product at $49.99 for 30-days following its release.

coolio2004
RC2 runs like a rabbit on my AMD64 3400 Former builds were so...slow on AMD CPU´s without VT. A big progress on the way to RTM. Coolio

xtraa
It is working fine, but does anyone know how to cancel this annoying window? I am logged in as Root, and I also tried it with disabled lan at startup. Also, the key combination ctrl+alt+shift does not work here. So I am unble to exit the virtual machine //edit: ok, I fixed it by copying the hidden settings file and renamed it. after that, I was able to enter the preferences menu to edit my hotkey settings

John the Geek
I get an error when I install it that my machine does not meet the requriements. How did I get around this error? Do you have an Intel Mac running 10.4.4 or higher? You need > 10.4.4 due to software requirements. You need an Intel Core Duo chip to use VT-x as well as the obvious native x86 code. xtraa
I get an error when I install it that my machine does not meet the requriements. How did I get around this error? Yes, had that, too. AMD here. 1. Simply install it with pacifist. 2. After that copy the hidden preferences file .parallels_common_options in your (Harddisk)/Library/Parallels/ folder. You may have to activate the "show hidden folders". You can use the showhide widget to do the job. 3. Then, make a copy of the file in the same folder, and rename it to .dhcpd_configuration. Voila
impulse9
on my laptop parallels works ok (pentium M (no vt)) But I've some strange problems with the internet in parallels, only a few websites are working, like google.com. But when I tried to ping other websites in command view, it pings them with normal values. Above that I can see network folders of other windows computers in the netwerk, but to open them is impossible. is there any known solution for the problem? I think the problem has nothing to do with the router, I tested it on my campus internet. thanx pentium M 1.73ghz Realtek build-in ethernet ati x600M (qe, ci supported) windows xp sp2 in parallels CR (3,9gb fat32)
