I install snow under my Dell XPS M1730.

Installation type: osinstall.mpkg on external hd usb.

BootLoader: Chameleon 2 RC3.

Kext (64 bit version):

1. NullPowerManagement

2. OpenHaltRestart

3. fakesmc v2

4. PatformUUID

5. VodooPS2 + prefpane

6. AppleIntelPIIXATA

7. Sleepenabler

8. VodooHDA + prefpane

I try EFI string for my 8700M GT but i can't enable CI/QE.

When i try injectors/enablers i boot and ci/qe is enabled (top bar traslucent) but pc hangs after initial loading. If I boot with -x CI/QE is disabled.

Someone maybe has a solution.

Thanks

Did you try turning on the GraphicsEnebler in the /E/cam.apple.Boot.plist?

<key>GraphicsEnabler</key>

<string>y</string>

Tried with VBIOS as well, QE/CI appears to be enabled, but it's unusable. GUI hangs, gets about 1 frame update every 30-60 seconds. Running PC EFI 10.3

NVKush worked perfectly in 10.5.x, I think EFI strings might work if made for both cards.

Here is what my setup looks like

According to your signature, you're using an Inspiron 1720, not an XPS M1730. The issue we have is that the M1730 has two GPUs in it, which causes all sorts of problems when it comes to OSX.

Batz79 - Do you have the same problem as I do with GraphicsEnabler?

Hey, my topic about my Toshiba laptop with dual cards might be able to help you out some.

I have dual 8600m GT you have dual 8700m GT from what I can tell so it might work for you.

Try using my modified nvinject 0.2.2 64bit kext with my nvcap then try with your nvcap

here is the nvinject I am using and you can look in my topic for more information.

Thanks but I try
  1. NVinject
  2. NVinjectGO
  3. NVKush
  4. CoreVidia
  5. Aty_init
  6. NVEnabler

All enables QE/CI but pc hangs after initial load. I can only move mouse.

May I ask which tutorial you used to get snow working on your 1730? I have been unsuccessful so far.

But as per your question, I have had good luck with nvkush in 10.5.x as someone else mentioned.

Im going to try to get snow going and I will keep you posted if I come across a solution for our cards
