Snow Leopard is breaking in odd ways.

Sorry if it turns out my issue is common and has been done to death in these forums, but I am new, signed up for this very reason. So basically I have a 3 month old Macbook Pro 13 inch that has been working perfectly since I got it. I am not entirely sure when this started either.

Basically, it is a £900 speed machine, and has lived up to that, but recently I have started to have some loading issues with it. Occasionally, seemingly at random when I have 2-5 programs open at once (never usually need any more than that), the spinning marble of doom will appear, and will stay there for around 30 seconds then the computer gets back to being a speed demon again. I have noticed it most when I am watching episodes of Peep Show on quicktime, usually happens about once every 25 minute episode without fail, but it happens outside of quicktime too on occasion and it is just a minor annoyance that I would not bother asking about if it had always done that.... and if I hadn't raked out £900 for this machine to work fast.

It has been happening more frequently lately, or maybe I just notice it more. I am not sure what may have caused this, though recently (perhaps around the time it started) 2 things have happened:

Firstly, I got snow leopard. Installed it, it kinda didn't come onto my machine to comfortably, froze on the blue startup screen a few times, then got my my login and kept failing to login and sent me back to the login screen. I left it a while and when I came back to it it worked fine. That was bizarre, scared me a bit.

Then there was a Call of Duty 4 crash. It basically just crashed my machine in the sort of way that the only way out is to hold the power button down until it goes dead. It crashed twice, I have not been on it much lately.

So, that is all the info I can give you. Is there anything anyone knows that could have caused this?

You could check the system.log in Console.app, maybe something isnt playing nice with snow leopard, I just checked mine after reading your post and a part of the EyeTV program has been crashing and restarting every 5 seconds since I installed it 2 weeks ago.

I want to live with mark and jeremy :)
