I have a realtek 8192SE (same family) in my Samsung N120 - and it is not working. In fact, it's the only thing not working but I don't want to break my warranty by trying to swap it out. To much trouble, imo.

The realtek 819x seems to be more and more common though, sure wish there was a driver around.

Best of luck!

Me too. I have installed iAtkos v7 on Gauja V-10B netbook with Realtek 8191SE WiFi.

Sound and video acceleration works.

Webcam and WiFi doesn't.

Maybe it is possible somewhere in kexts to write the 8191 card is 8187 and try if it works?

There are solutions where OSX was made think one device is another and it worked.

How it is done?

I send an email to Realtek and they sent me the driver for Mac 10.5 and 10.6 at the time.

The response by the realtek support has been excellent.

If you want the driver send me an email and we'll send him or ask to support realtek ('wlanfae@realtek.com).

Thanks for your mail.

We have no plan to support MAC OS for RTL8191SE so far.

If you have any question, feel free to let us know. Thanks.

I am here by attaching the downloaded driver RTL_8191su_usb.zip for your convenience.

This has two zipped files one for 10.5.x and the other one for 10.6.x.

Wlan_USB_MacOS10.6_Driver_1066.1030_UI_1.7.0.zip

Wlan_USB_MacOS10.5_Driver_1066.1030_UI_1.7.0.zip

WEP works fine for me and the driver is quite stable. Sleep/Resume works fine with this driver on 10.6.4 x86_64.

RTL8191 chip set is shipped in two types of wireless cards.

1. USB wireless dongle (RTL 8191 SU)

2. Mini (Half mini) PCI-E wireless card (RTL 8191 SE)

As of now, the OS X driver is available only for the USB dongle RTL8191SU.

Just would like to confirm that this driver works with a Sitecom WL-352 v1.001 "Wireless USB micro adapter 300N" on my MBP A1162 (airport card died, so needed something in a hurry.)

Hopefully this will help others using the cheap and popular GETNET GN 621U USB which came with only a Leopard driver on the CD and the same on their downloads page - it works fine in Snow Leopard in 32bit but not at all in 64bit. The GN 621U seems to have the same id numbers as you list

so, try at your own risk folks but it works for me, so far. Thank you for posting your results, hnvijay. :)

Just to let everyone know, this driver works like a treat for the Dlink DWA-131 nano USB adapter. :D

This tiny piece of kit is a great replacement for my built-in Intel 4965AGN, which does NOT work.

Im running Snow Leopard 10.6.4 on a Fujitsu LifeBook P8010.

How about the RTL8191SE Mini-PCI? Is it working? Has someone tried to modify the kexts for the RTL8191SU or RTL8192U?

As for the Windows Drivers, the RTL8192U is not supported in the same package as the RTL8191SE. So, I've uploaded the RTL8191SU driver, which is supported in the same Windows package as the RTL8191SE (If I'm not mistaken...)..

I'm not an expert in modding kexts. Could someone tell me how to do it so I can try it myself?
