CZ*DarkLight
Hey guys. I get case of Powermac G5, but it has seriously damaged outer aluminium plate. So, I'm wondering what are your ideas with this piece. If repair, how? Repair current damaged outer case, or make a new one? If new one, how to fix it back to inner cage? I disassembled it and style of attachement outer metal to inner cage is not the best, because when I will make a new outer plate, there will be no mounting protrusions with thread. Or I can sell it, but I dont think that somebody will buy it for cca 100 euros. (cant go downer) check photos of damage, I hope you will help me what to do. Remeber that I am in Czech Republic so ability of some facilities are limited, same with money (I am student) Thank ya!
Attil@
Hello! Where did you get it? I would like to buy one, but I don't know where to get one. I'm in Slovakia.
u1m2
If I were in Czech Republic now, I would forget that case ever existed and go outside to enjoy the company of some beautiful Czech ladies. I was in Prague with a friend two summers ago for like 3 weeks and we wouldn't have left if we hadn't ran out of money from all the dining and the clubbing. If you would rather not listen to my original advice then I suggest you take a big bunsen burner to quickly go over the areas of the aluminum you want to fix and hammer it into shape but make sure bunsen burner is flaming so that it is not pointing a small spot but a wide area or else the heat might damage the aluminum. For broken parts there is always aluminum glue which is firmer than lousy welding one might do and for dents you should try to find some filling material but you will need to repaint the case and apply some basecoat and clearcoat as well or else the filling material would stick out awfully. Good luck on your case...

DiaboliK
ouch man! that case needs some love. as a machinist/welder it would take some work to get it back to lookin how it was originally. speciallay for 100 euros ($128 and change for me). on ebay you can get them for $100 new plus shipping which is usually $50. but to get it repaired, if you took it to a machine shop, it would cost alot more. i have some ideas you can do but it would require some hard work, if your not inclined to do some.
