Hello,

I installed SL and got the following panic:

"Unable to find driver for this platform: ACPI" (look at attached image)

I have turned ACPI on and off, and I changed it from S1 to S3 and back, but none of it worked.

iPC 1.5.6 works without any problems.

my specs:

-Intel Q6600;

-MSI P35 Neo2 FR;

-2* SATA hdd: 1*160Gb(GUID and 2 partitions HFS+ for SL and TM) and 1*500Gb (MBR and 2 partitions NTFS Windows 7 + Vista)

-Nvidia Geforce 8800GT 512Mb

Thanks!

EDIT: I use EFI PC v10 and XNU Voodoo 9.6

Hey CountryKoekje (Dutch?),

I have a MSI P35 Neo2-FIR motherboard and want to install Snow Leopard.

Before I used to run Leopard 10.5.5 on a modified BIOS.

Could you redirect me to a usable tutorial on how to proceed?

Or maybe you can write down your own settings and steps taken.

Returning to a standard non-mod BIOS would be great,

but I don't understand how to patch DSDT, so help on that would also be great.

Thanks in advance,

-niels (The Netherlands)

Hi everybody, I got SL installed on a single partition hd with GUID partition scheme, but gives me KP. So, i'v tried to replace the mach_kernel with a modded one, but I get "Mach-O Bad Magic Number" on boot.

KP with or without dsdt patch.

The bootloader is the latest Chameleon, Leopard 10.5.x runs fine on the same rig (iDeneb, JaS, iPC).

Is there a fix? Do I have to follow extra steps in order to boot SL in a smooth way?

Thanks

I 'm very happy with my modified bios v.1B5 and any vanllia kernel. k

Only fakesmc.kext and PC EFI v10.4 loader needed.

FLASH AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!

For only MSI P35 NEO2-FR/FI aka MS-7345 mobo!

Does you have a guide or something that tells how to do and what to do if something goes wrong?

EDIT: What original bios is it based on? Does E0 stepping work on that bios?

@countrykoekje: no success with original 1A bios ?

i flashed my bios with your 1.B5 -> everything works with my new E0 Q9550 (wich requires 1A official) in windows (didn't test snow yet, but sure it will work too)

BUT

POST displays right id, THOUGH kind of messes up with clock generation, didn't find "the pattern" yet but 400x8,5 is NOT 3667Mhz. after booting every clock reporting tool in windows report right clocks, so i guess it is just a cosmetic error witch BIOS and POST messages? don't know if that happens with official 1A too (i guess 1B5 is beta and newer, so i have no clue why it has that bug)

eg. if i enable EIST in Bios, multiplier set to 8,5, as soon as enable it, the values below for resulting clock are not "correct in relationship to the chosen FSB"- if i disable EIST -> it imideately displays correct clock. switch back on -> wrong clock..........

any info on that? + THANK YOU for "whatever" you modified (would be nice to know what exactely)

cheers

so this works with E0 :) nice
