Hey I have been trying to upgrade to snow leopard for a long time and every tutorial and everything I try fails because of DSDT patching. I used different patchers and they all get errors and the patcher GUI says BUILD FAILED. I also have a DSDT folder located in Library/Temp/DSDT and there's another patcher located inside there but that fails too. Please help. And does anybody know where the best guide is? Thank you.

My personal experience is that learning how to compile and patch the DSDT file takes a long time to learn.

I found it easier to boot into Windows and extract the DSDT file. There are a number of ways to do this. Just search on Google. Here is one way.

1. download acpica tools from acpica.org; http://acpica.org/downloads/binary_tools.php

2. run 'iasl -g' from a cmd shell in Windows to extract all acpi tables. This will create a DSL file.

3. boot your Hackintosh, and compile this original DSL file to make sure it will compile with no errors before you start changing it.

4. Apply RTC patch and other standard patches that you need. Then recompile.

5. Put the new dsdt.aml file in your "Extra" directory. Reboot your Hackintosh.
