CPU Issue when installing snow leopard

Hello everyone, i'm experiencing a bad issue when i try to install OSX 10.6 on my desktop PC.

i followed the procedures described in this article: http://lifehacker.com/5351485/how-to-build...start-to-finish

to prepare an USB HD that contains the OSX setup, but when i try to boot from that HD, after chosing the partition to boot from chameleon it hangs up on the apple logo and some "terminal-like" messages come out immediatelly followed by a kernel panic popup.

since this is the computer I'm running the installer on, and i don't have a camera right here to take a picture of the error to post it here, i can't report it as it is, but i can remember the error was related to CPU, saying something like experting 2 threads but found >3.

then it returned an exception and the KP is returned.

I managed to configure the BIOS of my mobo according to best practice:

AHCI

ACPI = S3

and disabling all COM ports and additional IDE controller.

but no luck.

Since i also have a working installation on another workstation i can use to work on the installation HD, maybe someone can give me some hints on how to "adapt" the installation HD so that it can boot on my hardware?

here is the config:

MB: MSI P35 Platinum

CPU: intel core 2 quad Q9400

4GB Ram OCZ (2x2gb)

Geforce 8800GTS (the old 320MB model)

mouse, keyboard and monitor :D

Thnx in advice for your time and help :(
