imacken
On my desktop install of SL, everything works except I get crashes after a random amount of time - especially if it is left idle for 20 - 40 minutres. (Leo has never had a problem on the same rig.) What is the best way of investigating what is causing the problem? Thanks.
imacken
So, no-one has any advice about how I can look into this problem. Aside from looking at the system log, I'm stumped.
gawkersucks
What does the console show? That's your best place to start - try removing any applications that install kext's to function (Parallels, Steer Mouse etc etc). Disconnect any unneeded USB / Firewire external devices, if it doesn't KP then slowly add them back. Process of elimination.

Pure vanilla install with no additional apps or devices still crashes - especially after a period of inactivity. Console doesn't seem to report anything useful, although I'm no expert on that! It's very annoying, because when it's working it's so much cleaner than my Leo install. Sometimes goes for hours without a crash, but sometimes it's minutes.
