n00b 10.4.6 Advisory Warning?

I am have not yet bothered to install 10.4.6 because 10.4.5 works perfectly on my box.

Yet, I am fielding about three n00b 10.4.6 installation questions every day.

I am definitely getting the idea that 10.4.6 has issues and that n00b's should be advised to use 10.4.5 instead.

But I am not even sure, as I said I have not touched 10.4.6.

if someone has a 10.4.4 or above installation working to their satisfaction, and are on an Intel machine, they can update succesfully to 10.4.6 with no problems, in about 10 minutes.

my guide for updating is buried deep in the Installation subforum, and in the Genius Bar. this is not an egotistical honking of my horn. i really want others to have as much fun as i am having on OS X, and there is no reason for anyone with a working installation not to be having fun on 10.4.6. :)

10.4.3 is by far the best, but no proper SATA support.

10.4.1 is the easiest to install. What can be easier than 'dd'

10.4.3 has a big drawback: Rosetta runs all the time because of a PPC-only system service which has been compiled for Intel in later releases. That means: slower perf, and more RAM needed.

And those (like me) with Atheros Wifi need 10.4.5 to get Airport.

I'm happy with 10.4.6 since it's far faster and wifi enabled, especially with my 512MB RAM, although I have display and sleep issues that i didn't have with 10.4.3.
