cybertlc
I've had Leopard installed on this computer without a hitch. I tried installing Snow Leopard onto my internal SATA drive and it continually gets stuck at STILL WAITING FOR ROOT DEVICE. This is AFTER the install goes without a hitch. I've installed two ways - by copying the install CD onto a USB Key, and by running the installer in Leopard. Both give the same results. I also tried installing to an external USB device, and again - install went fine, but when booting it gets "STILL WAITING FOR ROOT DEVICE." I've read a bit and it sounds like it may have something to do with my chipset not being in the APPLEPIIXATA kext perhaps? I'm not sure how this could be, since running the installer from the USB key shows all the drives in my system, therefore it's recognizing them. Anyone have any advice? This is a regular P5K (no VM or SE or anything). Thanks in advance!
Godolete
You're gonna have to use AHCI mode. The current IDE drivers don't work worth a damn yet.

It doesn't have an option for AHCI......which is why I also tried installing to a USB drive with the same problem.
