leslieking
Hi, I had a Pioneer DVR-111DBK (IDE). OS X recognized the drive as 'Apple Shipped - Superdrive'. It was 100% compatible and worked like a dream! Now, I have a Pioneer DVR-216D (SATA) and I have just problems. Sometime the drive is detected, sometimes not. I updated the BIOS to the latest version. So... don't tell me EP35-DS3L is a bad mobo, because I don't believe... DVR-216D is a big {censored}! Someone recommend me a SATA PIONEER drive which is 100% compatible (detected as SuperDrive, Apple Shipped in System Profiler) ?
vilpostus
maybe the problem is not the DVD drive, but the SATA controller's kext. Try a different IOATAFAmily.kext e.g. this http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=88335
