Obecny
Have You noticed any difference of temperature between 10.5.x and 10.6 ? I have UD3P rev 1.0 bios 10e, (dsdt.aml, fakesmc, LegacyHDA, OpenHaltRestart, PlatformUUID and 32bit legacyIOAHCIBlockStorage) and my cpu is up to 75C idle when in 10.5.x idle temp is about 48C Where could be a problem ? thanks
evilduck
Measuring using TemperatureMonitor.app while writing this: Leopard and Snow Leopard idle at the same temps for me, around 30C (each core is different, but the lowest is 28, highest is 32). I run a C2Q Q9400 @ 3.00Ghz on a EP45-UD3R, so it should be a pretty similar setup to yours. I've got an aftermarket heatsink, which shifts my numbers down from the stock performance, but the OS change didn't affect anything. My kexts: LegacyHDA, SleepEnabler, fakesmc, IOAHCIBlockStorage, NullCPUPowerManagement, OpenHaltRestart and PlatformUUID. Also using DSDT and have updated to the latest BIOS firmware for my hardware. I also boot in 32bit mode. You might grab NullCPUPowerManagement and see if that helps? Even idling at 48C seems high unless you're in a cramped case or computing in the desert. Have you checked your Console and Activity Monitor for anything erroneous?
Obecny
all it look like my problem gone away, thanks evilduck for this NullCPUPowerManagement which really doing a good job, my cpu is passively cooled and this is the reason why my idle temp at 48C don't make me worry Do You know maybe is there any option to use some dsdt.aml patch instead of this kext ? Thanks!

Thanks! I'm glad you got it working (or deliberately not working in this case). I'm not aware of a DSDT patch to fix it, which would be the optimal solution. Usually when AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement is an issue, it throws kernel panics and fills your console with errors regarding the HPET.
