plainlyinsanely
I have a 1.67ghz Aluminum Hi-res PPC running 10.4.11. IMMEDIATELEY after a software update of a security update from apple (don't remember which one exactly), Both of my USB ports just stopped working. After searching, found some steps to reload earlier USB files but that didn't work. Others have suggested making sure that USB services are being turned on during startup, but I have no idea how to do this. Others suggested using USB PROBER has worked for them. I have it installed but don't know how to use it either. Any advise on what to do here. I've opened this laptop to upgrade the hard drive before so I'm definitely not afraid to get in there if anyone has any internal advise to try either. Just need HELP badddly. Anybody? Here's a pic of my USB in system profiler.
Oczo
System Updates are frequent points of no return. If you backup, which everyone should, just before an OS update is the ideal time to do so.

If system update changed something..... is there a way to change it back OR wipe it clean and start all over again?
