Logic 9 and Cutting Loops

I'm planning on buying logic 9 and using it for my sampler based music. So, at the moment, the way I'm going to get my music off my sampler disks is to play them from my sampler into my digital multitrack unit, and then save them as wav files. So basically, I'm going to have a wav file for each song, which will end up something like this: 2 bar drum loop, short silence, 2 bar bass loop, silence, guitar loop, silence, etc.. until I get all the samples for a song on there. Then, I'm going to load these wav files onto my mac and then hope to use them in Logic. So this brings me to some questions...

What is the easiest way in Logic 9 to cut each sample and save it as an individual audio file, then use these files in the Logic project as loops that are in time? I want the samples to loop and go in and out of the song and stay in time with eachother. I've watched dozens of tutorials online and read many forums, but I'm still slightly unclear on where to start. Perhaps with some time in the program I'll learn how to do this myself easily... but hopefully some simple advice might steer me in the right direction. Most of my songs are going use this method (I can't seem to get a decent zip disk drive to work with any damn computer I try, and therefore can't just transfer the files to a computer digitally, it's frustrating). Also, once I get all the samples cut and put into the song, I'm going to assume that some samples are going to be slightly out of time and need adjustment. How do you adjust the start and end points to line them up with the rest of the song? Is there a better method than doing things this way? Sorry to ask so many questions, but any help would be appreciated, as my whole use of the program relies on getting this done efficiently. Thanks alot.
