So how about it? There are a few consoles out there that have the ability to have Homebrew software insatlled on them and those same consoles have Linux up on them.

PSP, Wii, Xbox 360, PS3

- Their all PPC CPU's (not the generic kind though)

- Memory...PSP and Wii would definantly need a lower version of OS X but the 360 and PS3 would do fine

- Usefulness. Well, whats not useful about having a OS on your console?

The wii's cpu is very close to that of a g3, and closer to a cpu apple used than the other consoles. It may be possible to get the tiger kernel running, but I dont think anything but the original Mac OS X 10.0 will run on it due to it only having 88mb of system ram. Obviously this would be sluggish at best.

The other systems would run it alot better, but they're held back by their cpu's being more heavily modified.

Windows has been done one Xbox. I've had a thaught on what if Apple made a game console that runs off the same coding as OSx for games, and that these games were compatible with both Mac's and Apples Game Console. it could jump their business alot

Would be awesome, but unlikely.

Simply put, I'd love it if something like this was actually on the boards and could beat the heck out of the competition.

Also, there could be such a device that could be a larger substitute for the iPhone.

Making it the most versatile device ever, with all the touch and motion sensor apparatus in the iPhone.

Imagine simpler games like Pool, Billiards, Snooker, etc Tennis, and Racing Driving sims, FIFA!!!!

Simply being controlled with a iPhone like device.

Or better yet, one can simply get all friends who have iPhones or the iTouch, and each hand set would become a console joystick... for ultra-multi-player gameplay!

Imagine, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 1 & 2, Kane & Lynch, etc. All being playable using this concept!

Now, wouldn't that be simply awesome!

But, you see Apple is just as stupid a business corporate like M1Cr0$oft and it can only see money from desktops and lappies. That's it. Just like blinkers!

ipad?

Nada. Nada. Not that way. iPad is already there...

I meant like a PSP, or a Wii Controller thing...

I haven;t gone through the entire specs sheet of iPad...

In that case, is it completely a larger version of iPhone?

Like, not a tablet, but a fully functional gaming support like iPhone/iTouch provide?

Then, Apple is really dumb to venture in Apple TV, after all the computing technology it is dishing out AND THEN,

NOT developing a gaming console....

HOW silly.....

PSP was able to run XP? o.o How long was the boot time lol?

And sadly sony removed the OtherOS option in the PS3

I think the PSP was able to run Windows XP and I think the PS3 can run Linux but if it's useful I don't know unless they could integrate it with the console

I really don't get this one. What's the purpose of an OS in a console btw? I only have PS2 and i never tried something like this.
