Looking for a Firewall / Internet permissions prompter

I use ZoneAlarm on my PC and it's great at monitoring when programs on my PC try to go online: perfect for spotting rogue spyware, trojans, key-loggers, etc.

Does anyone know any program like this for my Mac? I am currently trialing Intego NetBarrier which does the trick but it is a little overkill as it is a full-featured Firewall, too. Alos, rather than give permission to a program you give permission to a program accessing an IP address, so may have to answer frequently such permission questions - a bit of a pain.

Does anyone have any advice?

Thanks,

My advise is that you is to create a limited account then use that one (running admin all the time is not a good idea) and turn on the built-in firewall in OSX if you are really paranoid about spyware.

Thanks for the info about LittleSnitch - that sounds ideal.

@donnici

It's not paranoia, it's simply good housekeeping (and I am using the built-in firewall). Creating a new account and leaving the doors open is not really an option. EVERYONE should be aware of exactly what is accessing the Internet on their computer, not only the paranoid. Viruses, trojan and key-loggers spread like wildfire because of the lack of security on half of the World's PCs. Simply because Apple Macs are targetted less does not mean the danger is not there. It reminds me of the lack of condom use in the heterosexual population during the 80s and 90s and the @hey, it doesn't affect us" attitude.

Thanks guys,
