A Nonny Moose Posted May 26, 2006 Share Posted May 26, 2006 All right, is this kind of madness possible (and I mean every step of this process, so no coming in and saying "you can do 1, 4, and 6, but definitely not 2")? 1. First off we utilize BootCamp to create a Windows partition over on a Mactel system and save the drivers to disk like you have to do anyway. 2. Take a PowerPC Mac and boot up Virtual PC 6 or 7 with Windows XP. 3. Have Virtual PC open up the virtual PC drive as a disk image. 4. Reboot the Mactel in Target disk mode and hook it up to the PPC Mac. 5. Utilizing Target Disk Mode and Terminal's sudo ditto command, shuttle everything from the Virtual PC disk image to the partition just made for Windows on the Mactel system. 6. Eject Target disk first and then VPC image, delete the VPC hard drive image, and hope no copyright laws were intentionally violated (thankfully, this is all being done as a theoretical process right now). 7. Start up Windows on the Mactel system and install the necessary driver for use. 8. Live happily ever after. Would such an insane idea work? Or would it result in a horrible unstable system?
