Before a few days ago I have never used an Apple product other then my phone, so stay with me.

I downloaded a 10.6 torrent to test out the new OS, I used Chameleon 2 on USB in-order to install it, however there are a few errors. If I try to boot normally the screen will either show the Apple with the "Loading" symbol, or it will boot into SL then show the "Turn off using the power button" box.

Now if I boot in Verbose mode, then it all works "fine".

but there-in lies my other problem.... When I boot in Verbose mode the laptop's keyboard and touchpad are not found, the Wireless card is not found (The touchpad, keyboard and WiFi problems would be missing Kext's right?), the system runs extremely slow and will randomly turn off (I would be typing or searching the internet or even just idling, then the power cuts out).

After the first Install I booted into Verbose mode and received a Panic "IOATAFamily"

I then reinstalled with that kext unchecked.

After the last install I booted into Verbose mode and received a Panic "Keyboardsetupass"

I rebooted then was greeted by the setup screen and a Keyboard identification screen.

So I plugged in my USB mouse and Keyboard.

Ok, now the info of the Laptop I'm using.

Hi I have the same pc as you. I have been able to run kaly on a separate partition.

I am also using the $29 dollar retail disc. I wanted to do it up right.

So far I have been able to install 10.6 on the second partition.

I tried a couple of guides on the forums and none work to expectations. I had better luck with the following link.

http://lifehacker.com/5351485/how-to-build...start-to-finish

Here are the items that do not work at the moment.

No sound- i've tried to voodoo hda kext and it hasn't worked.

no keyboard.

no wireless. had the atheros working under the 10. partition

So as you can see its going to take a lot to get this working.

Try out the lifehacker guide and get back to me.
