just took a gamble by buying this thing. wasnt sure if it was going to work. wasnt working out of the box, thought i was screwed. found a driver for the Ralink chipset after a google search and gave it a shot. connected to a non-secured network after a few tries and now i'm rollin spinnaz!

i have not been able to test WEP yet. anyone who can update this post before me with WEP confirmation feel free. seems like it'll work if the driver's working okay.

It's also working on 10.5.1 using the Dlink driver for 10.4

I have a Compaq Presario C751NR and gave up on getting the build-in Atheros 5007 running. I think the Dlink is a excellent solution for people with the 5007.

Here is my setup that I have up now since 2 days:

C751NR

Vista on internal SATA without bootloader

Mac OS X 10.5.1 using the iAtkos v.1.0 r2 install DVD (no EFI) on external USB drive with out bootloader

switching between Vista and Mac OS X with boot device setup in BIOS

touch pad has to be turned off (buggy)

display (Intel GMA X3100) working out of the box

sound working out of the box

LAN working out of the box

build-in WLAN not working

WLAN Dlink WUA 1340 USB working with Dlink supplied driver for 10.4

printer Epson CX4600 USB workink with Epson supplied driver for 10.4

scanner Epson CX4600 USB working out of the box

bluetooth adapter Cambridge Silicon Radio USB working out of the box

bluetooth mouth Logitech V470

CD/DVD burning not working

I am using the drivers above and they seem to work alright with the exception of one problem:

I can connect to most networks just fine, however, everytime I connect to a WEP network, a screen pops up telling me that I have to reboot. Has anyone else had this issue? or know of a work around?

Edit:

OK for anyone experiencing this problem make sure your wireless mode is set to "802.11 B only" in the 'Advanced' tab. Hope this helps!
