First of all I used the "SnowOSX" disk off the nova, version 3.5. This is the Gold Master Version. The disk installed fine but would not boot. After installation. I used these steps below to make the hard drive boot SL. I used only SATA drives both hard drives and the DVD-ROM. You can install with an IDE DVD-ROM but it does not show up in SL after installation.

What you will need:

A working Leopard 10.5.6 or later installation.

An empty GUID partitioned Hard Drive. (Other than your Leo install)

The above mentioned SL disk.

fakesmc.kext (courtesy of netkas)

VoodooHDA.kext

DSDT.aml from your Leopard install

IOATAFamily.kext from your Leopard install

Kext Utility (courtesy of this post)

Steps:

1. In BIOS make sure SATA is configured as AHCI and HPET is enabled in Power Options.

2. Burn the ISO to a DVD. Pop it in your DVD drive and restart.

3. When the installation screen comes up click on "Utilities" and run "Disk Utility".

4. Click on the Empty Drive you want SL to be installed to. (make sure this is not you LEO drive!)

5. Partition the Drive with the GUID partition table and click apply. (I named mine "SNOW")

6. After the partition is complete close Disk Utility and click on your newly partitioned drive to install to.

7. The install should take between 20 and 30 mins. When it asks you to restart do so. and take out your SL DVD.

8. Boot back into your Leo install, we need to copy DSDT and some kexts.

9. Copy DSDT.aml from the root of your Leo drive to the root of your SL drive.

10. Delete DSMOS.kext from System/Libraries/Extensions folder on your LEO drive to SL drive.

11. Copy fakesmc.kext, IOATAFamily.kext and VooDooHDA.kext to the System/Libraries/Extensions folder on your SL drive.

12. Reboot with -V and cross fingers.

13. Go through the setup screen but do not run migration assistant yet!

14. Put your EFI strings for Video Card in boot.plist.

15. Run Kext Utility until it finishes and reboot again.

I ran migration assistant and copied stuff from my Leo drive over after all of this and all went well.

This is my first Guide, any suggestions or comments are welcome.

It's version 10A432 which is the retail version. But the ISO is edited with patches for Hackintosh PC's. Installs chameleon for you. You can apply custom kernel extensions from the install, ect. It's similar to an iDeneb release. Plus it's small enough to fit on a single layer DVD so you just burn the ISO and your golden.

My brother has the same motherboard you have so theses install instruction will work on your board.

I have an AsRock Conroe1333-1394 mother board, and I've tried following your guide.

However, I get a kernel panic as soon as I boot the SL install disk (the harddisk with the DVD image, that is).

Any advice?

Sorry it took me a bit to get back to you. I was out of town for a little while.

I did not boot that install DVD from a Hard Drive. I burned it and ran from DVD-ROM. Booted right up. Make sure you have HPET enabled under Power Options in BIOS, as well as AHCI under SATA options. I tried several times to boot from a hard drive partition and could not get it to work (Kernel Panics almost immediatly), following several different guide on these forums.

Also, what BIOS version are you running? Type -V when at the boot loader and tell me what it says.
