munakib
can you help me....? how to install leopard on my dell vostro 1400?? t try iatkos 5i but not succes... what the leopard verion for this hardware (dell vostro 1400) sorry for my bad english help me.............. What is the configuration of your Vostro 1400? Here are mine: Intel C2D 1.8GHz Processor 3GB DDR2 SDRAM Intel GMA Graphics Card Sigmatel 9228 Soundcard Dell MiniPci 1395 Wireless 160GB HardDisk In any case, here are the Steps that work for me. [i have a Intel GMA graphics card, not Nvidia] Installing and Running OSX on Vostro 1400 using iATKOS 5i. Installation Steps: 1: Start the computer with the iatkos 5i CD inside, start the installation process. 2: Format the drive to MAC hdd format using Disk Utility 3: In the "install leopard now" step, choose "Customize" 4: Select> only tick, x86 acpi, speedstep a, battery meter, (nvidia driver if you have an nvidia card). [cant recall anything else, I will edit this if/when I do] 5: Start and Complete Installation 6: After your computer restarts, you will not see anything after the skyblue screen, screen will remain blank, wait till you see that all processes are finished (keep checking the hard disk working light on the laptop), press "fn+esc" when all the processes seemed finish. You should see the Post Installation Screen now. 7: Complete the post installation page and watch as OSX starts. 8: Now you will need drivers for Sound and Wifi (LAN does not work in OSX, atleast for me). 9: Display Fix - To stop using "fn+esc" on every bootup, kindly download the attachment Display Fix, you will find the instructions inside the folder. Steps for Sound: 1. Download the attached file "Sound Driver.zip" 2. Unzip and Put the "codecdump9228_rev1.txt" on the "AppleHDAPatcher_v1.16" and let it complete its work. 3. Download "Kext Helper b7" google it. 4. Using "Kext Helper b7" install the files inside STAC9228_0x83847616, "ALCinject.kext" and "AppleHDA.kext." Steps for Wifi: 1: Google and Download "Dell Laptop Post Installer" 2: Start setup 3: Just install "Dell Wireless 1395" under Network section. 4: Google and Download OSx86 Tools 5: In OSx86 Tools: First click Repair Permissions followed by Set Permissions. 6: restart osx, and enjoy AirPort services Apologies M0000000000 if it seems like I have hijacked this thread. Edit: Updated with DisplayFix. Sound_Drivers.zip DisplayFix.zip

Snowle0
Does this work with the newer vostro 1410? Can i just follow the guide for the vostro 1720 and get everything working on the 1410. Can someone confirm this works from the guide??? Also did anyone actually get 64 bit running on it and if so how and what (if any) are the problems Can someone tell me exactly what is compatible and working after the install (i.e. Sound, wifi, screen resoultion [hd 1366 x 768 on the 1410], bluetooth, ec.) Please i really wanna buy this notebook and put snow leopard on it. Here are the specs for the 1410: http://us.acer.com/acer/productv.do?Langua...wrAjaxHistory=3 are these specs compatible/ similar enough to the 1400 to work? Please help!!
