jgrimes80
Well, some of you on the forum may have come across some of my complaints about heat... REAL heat issues Initially, the Apple Store said it was within specs... but I grew weary because when I tested fellow peer's notebooks, the numbers were drastically lower. So yesterday I went to another Apple Store (they are everywhere here) and they were much more helpful... explaining about the thermal paste issues and how mine was way too hot, it's being taken care of!!! Also, they said there was the possibility that something was actually wrong with mine... if in this case, it would be replaced... I asked about the abroad heat complaints in general and the dude at the Genius Bar said that most who were complaining have never own a PowerBook... Apparently there is no difference, the actual heat is almost exactly the same. This makes perfect sense, PC notebooks run WAY cooler than Mac's. Such a jump would easily cause hairs to raise... But their suggestive selling got to me, lol. As I purchased a USB drive to back everything up before I had them send it in for repairs. But I'd been meaning to get one anyways... Thought I'd share a good experience..

bofors
I am kind of curious, has Apple officially denied that there is a problem with it's excessive use of thermal compound? Or made any attempt to justify it?
badg2k
I dont think apple does anything officially anymore. Good luck with the heat issue; I hope it doesnt come back as "unable to reproduce, within specs"
