I have my P5Q Bios patched with version 1611 by Juzzi. Now I installed SL and added a DSDT.aml which I generated with the GUI DSDT Patcher. I have nothing modified just loaded the app and compiled this file. I have put it into Extra.

So I read that the DSDT Patch = BIOS Patch. What I want to achieve is to have working audio (ALC1200). But so far I have none.

Should I update BIOS with vanilla BIOS because I now patched it twice?

Will the audio work out of the box or do I have to install some kexts in Extra?

I assume that the 4 cores also work with only DSDT.aml, right?

EDIT: I have updated BIOS to the newest version. I still have all cores. So it seems to work. How can I enable audio?
