I would prefer it if I could get a vanilla install to work, even though it will be my first attempt. I have successfully installed two Hackintoshes using modified kernels so far, but I have a feeling the vanilla install might be a lot more challenging. Here is the setup I propose: Motherboard: Choice between Asus P5N-D, Asus P5Q SE, Asus Maximus Formula II CPU: Intel Q9400 2.66ghz quad-core Graphics: Asus EN9400GT RAM: 4gb The rest should be non-relevant. Basically, with the motherboard, I have a choice between the Intel P45 chipset or the Nvidia nForce 750i chipset. Is there any advantage to use one chipset over another? Might it be easier to get the appropriate kexts etc? I see there is a successful install of a retail 10.6 copy on a Asus Maximus Formula, which makes me hope that a similar method should work on the Formula II. I will appreciate any feedback anyone can give UPDATE: From what I can deduce on the forums, I should stay away from nVidia chipset and instead use one with Intel chipset.
