longtom
Is this really needed? With i get KP although i have right UUID string! Without it's fine!
blackosx
Good question, because I can happily boot a backup install of SL and it works fine even though that volume has a different UUID to the one that Chameleon will inject from PlatformUUID.kext. But I think it's more for etiquette for the system and helps reduce errors in the system.log

VultUx
I just use fakeSMC.kext from Netkas and nothing more. Everything works perfect (almost, Im having a problem with Detect Monitor but I think is my graphics card). Do a test, prepare a boot pendrive with Chameleon and try some kext combinations, You will surprise that you dont need alot of kexts to Snow work. Nekrose
Hello. i'm wondering if this would be of any importance to a USB problem.. i use FakeSMC also.. but im not able to get USB online. the fixes where i just roll back the kext dont work. im wondering if this would help. i know the UUID number makes it easier to communicate to differant devices. but is it needed?
