bchan009
On the Apple site Snow Leopard is said to require 5GB of space. But when I do a clean install with 10a432, it takes up 8 or 9 GB. Does anyone know why there is a discrepancy? I always choose not to install other languages or printer drivers. =/ The "essential system software" portion of the installer shows 8GB. I was always under the impression it should be smaller. I've seen reports of people installing SL and taking up much less space - am I doing something wrong? O_o; Even SL's own installer says I should have 111gb free after installation, but when I check my drive's info after install I only have 107 or so free. Is it not deleting temp files used during installation? Seems like I'm nitpicking but I'm genuinely confused.
AzN_DJ
sizes have been redefined in Snow Leopard. 1kb is no longer 1024. 1kb=1kib=1000bytes This is probably confusing a few people.
