grreeaatt
i think that doing an erase and install will be alot cleaner for my system becuase i have edited alot of system files and it may cause errors in the upgrade. I have an external clone and the process i want to do will go something like this: 1) use superduper to clone internal to external 2) do erase and install on internal disk 3) use migration assistant to copy stuff from external WILL THIS WORK? WILL I LOOSE MY APPS? BETTER ALTERNATIVES?
CTJoyce
It will work as I have tried s similar method. However when it came down to it, it was much easier to just install apps clean instead of trying to bring them back using drag and drop, or migration assistant. For instance adobe and MS products can't just be dragged and dropped, and many of my other apps, I had to go through and the the configuration files, as well as the app. Also remember that not all apps are 100% compatible with 10.6 at this point, thus you may loose some apps entirely while the developer works on an update. So if I were you, I would say backup your home folder, and install everything else fresh.

Synaesthesia
Upgrade is the best way to install, in my opinion.
