There is anyone else who was able to install a snow leopard on a laptop dell 1530? Share your experiences please. Sorry for my English. Thx!

I'd like to know as well. I will be trying in the next week or so to get SL to work on my m1530, but would like to know if anyone has successfully installed it.

yeah been running since the early betas

most of the stuff works on mine

main issue is IOATAFamily.kext kernel panic at boot due to AppleIntelPIIXATA.kext - you will need to delete this kext or use leopard one if you desperately need an optical drive

Sound/KB+Mouse/Ethernet working 64-bit

32-bit working for Card Reader/Battery/Optical Drive (w/ leopard kexts)

i had a lot of issues w/ sleep but havent tried SleepEnabler.kext

gl with trying it out

Could you tell us how you install the snow leopard? I always jump out of panic, when I install from a leopard, and with a typical installation does not reach the installation.

I use a similar 1735. I installed 10.6 on a new partition on an external drive. Cloned that drive to the internal drive, installed chameleon. Completely vanilla except voodoohda and x3100 from 7.5. I had to replace the boot file with Netkas' snow leopard boot 10.1.

Can you give a reference to the method you used?

That is the method I used. Retail install on an external drive, boots with a real mac. Clone retail install to internal laptop drive with Carbon Copy Cloner. Installed Netkas efi bootloader. Could not get the bootloader to work using GUID had to use MBR for the internal drive. Wish I could work that out. I used the universal ps2 extensions for 10.5.x. for keyboard and trackpad.

Can U tell me how these "universal ps2 extensions" are called?

basically i followed that guide Guide

as long as you use DSDT, the correct bootloader either pc_efi v10 or the special v9 snow build and remove IOATAFamily.kext or use leopards version you shouldnt get panics

Look HERE for a SL version of the offending kext. Haven't tried it personally.

ok i finally got snowy leopard to run. had to delete /System/Library/Extensions/IOATAFamily.kext that loads the dvd drive. it was causing kernal panics during boot Still researching on how to get the sound to work. and also i am not able ot run in 64 bit mode only 32. gonna remove some of the kexts in the Extra folder and see which one is causing the kernal panic when i try 64 bit mode.

http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...8335&hl=965 hopefully soon somebody will release this for 64-bit so we can get the dvd drive to work. not like i need it or anything but would be nice to get everything working
