Hey there,

my SL is up and running and just wanted to share some quick points.

Hardware:
GA-X48-DQ6
6GB Ram
2 X 9600 GT 1024MB (palit)
AC889a

I've followed blackosx's guide;
http://www.insanelym...howtopic=180954

- But, when using ACPI Patcher, click Fixes and select the top 3 fix, or it won't compile
- DSDT or efi graphics didn't work for my 2 graphics card setup, so I've used NVdarwin
- DSDT also didn't work for audio, so I've followed;
http://www.insanelym...p...941&st=380#
Digital out is working and I'm not using other IN/OUT's anyway
- I'm using -x32 mode, nvdarwin and realtekR1000 is not working in 64bit
- Always use -x32 for the first boot, don't put it in boot.plist at first

- Once you're in SL, run

chmod -R 755 /Extra/Extensions
chown -R root:wheel /Extra/Extensions
chmod -R 755 /System/Library/Extensions
chown -R root:wheel /System/Library/Extensions
kextcache -v 1 -t -m /Volumes/SL/Extra/Extensions.mkext /Volumes/SL/Extra/Extensions /Volumes/SL/System/Library/Extensions

- Just run that code whenever you add/remove a kext from /S/L/E or /E/E
- After that you can add the -x32 to boot.plist
- OpenCL detects both 9600 GT's, everything is working...

Hi there.. good to hear that u succesfully install SL... but i`m still in the middle of it...

wondering if you could help me or any other ppl using the same mobo.. here are my specs

Mobo: GA-X48-DQ6
GPU: Nvidia 8600GT 512mb ddr3
RAM: 3GB DDR2
HDD: 250GB SATA
DVDRW: Pioneer (IDE)

Installation method: Using untouched SL dual layer disc.

so my question is..
1. what type of optical drive ur using? sata or pata? can i use pata?

2. I`m using blackosx's boot cd with ur extra files. when booting the next installation with -v mode. i can see "still waiting for root devices" (i already enables AHCI mode" and also tried using my older legacy ahci kext. but still stuck at that part.
it would be great ifyou could share with us ur boot cd iso :wallbash:

i`m still noob on this.. hope you can point out my mistakes so i can start on the right path..

thanks!!

A quick update. I saw a post about enabling "Start up automatically after a power failure" to get sleep working. I did and it works. My x48-dq6 sleeps and wakes up!!!
