I solved my Problem.
The DVI-Cable was in the DVI-Port 2 of my 9800GT.
I put it in the Port 1 and since that i don't have Performance-Problems anymore.

That's interesting. lol. I have one DVI port :)

Sadly it has no effect here on what DVI-Port my display is connected...

This phenomenon is actually not specifically related to hackintoshes but to regular Mac systems as well:

http://forums.macrum...ad.php?t=778806

http://legacy.macnn.....snow.leopards/

So it seems to be a "official" problem of Mac OS X 10.6(.1).

Maybe those who solved this problem by connecting the display to another DVI-Port could provide some benchmarks (before and after) to compare the results. Somehow I'm a little leery of that solution...

Greetings,
Daniel

I'd really be interested in viewing some ATI-results with this.

Anyone out there with a 48x0 to show off his/her results? :)

Here is mine with benchmark/multisample 4 - haven't tried any optimisation

and raw settings

From memory does appear to score lower than 10.5.8 but no longer have it

there is no difference between before and after. both round about 100 points. (open gl test only)
but the effects (exposé, dock, quicklook) are definitely smoother.

That all above use OpenGL , but the problem may NOT be in the OpenGL part !
So you didnt get so much less OpenGL speed benching OpenGL with OpenGLExtensionsviewer.
The 3 above use also other Frameworks which may have bugs or may get bad performance depending card vendor.
ATI Part in OpenCL Framework for example is unuseable (buggy) - Nvidia GPUs havent that problem.

It's performing a bit better using the other DVI port, but far from perfect (as in 10.5.8)...

For those who fixed the issue by using the DVI port 1:

what you have just done, I reckon, is changing the display from monitor 2 to monitor 1; so, your SL thought you were using 2 displays, so when you put the display in port 1 the graphics support works better...that or, SL just doesn't have full support for both DVI-s...

this happened to me also when i was using Leopard.

Or you just didnt do well with the EFI string.. you know you can choose DVI1+DVI2 later in the process.

BTW I have a Zotac 8800GT which has only one DVI working (other gives no output, even in BIOS) I hope it will be the right one. If it is not and I have slow perf issues is there any other way to fix this?

Thanks!

I would suggest making EFI strings with OSX86Tools; try different settings for DVI at the end of creating efi

Apparently, apple doesn't know about the OpenGL problem:

Anyway, I sent more info. I hope the problem will be fixed soon.

Hi

My results in 64 bit (4870) went up ~ 5% - see my previous post
(I was using ATY_init originally in 32 bit now using PC EFI v10.3 on 64 bit)

189 in 32 bit for the benchmark with ATY_init, 199 in 64 bit with PC EFI
219 in full screen mode in 32bit , 228 with 64 bit PC EFI

What would you expect for a radeon 4870?

regards
Steve

My efi string looked nothing like yours..... i used aquamacs method

BTW OpenGL went up a couple points but nothing spectacular....

hmm i still cant stop geekbench from crashing ive tried about 6 or 7 different efi strings and injectors

its something related to QE/CI or open gl because without it enabled it works fine

also final cut is crashing in log and transfer i also believe that open gl is suspect since it only happens in sl
