supr2nr
I was unable to find any documentation really helpful on getting a completely working setup of OS X on my HP DV2550se so after many many MANY installs. I finally figured out the correct setup and I thought I would post for anyone wanting to install on these little laptops. I used iDeneb 1.5.1 disk as 1.5 would not find the Hard Drives and 1.6 sleep does not work properly without a bunch of work. Here are the specs for the laptop: Intel T5250 1.5Ghz 2GB Memory 14.1 WXGA Display Ricoh 5-n-1 Memory Card Reader Intel X3100 Video Card 160 GB SATA Hard Drive Intel 3945 ABG Wireless Card Marvel Yukon Ethernet 3 USB Ports 8x DVD+-RW Dual Layer Burner ALPS Touchpad Here are the options I choose for my install: iDeneb Main System Chameleon v2 Bootloader 9.8.0 Vanilla Kernel SD/SDHCI Drivers IOUSBFamilyFix VoodooPS2Controller Remove VoodooPS2 Trackpad VoodooBattery Manager VoodooPower Kext GenericCPUMPControl VoodooUSBEHCI VoodooHDA Audio Driver ICHx Fixed AppleYukon2 Intel GMA950 After the install you will have to apply only a few fixes which I list below. Other than this all should be working properly. Trackpad Fix: The mouse will work and quite well off the bat, but scroll will not. To fix this you will have to download this driver and apply it with OSX86Tools. The only problem with this is that after sleep the mouse click function will stop. To fix it simply load the System Preferences and uncheck clicking and recheck it. http://forum.voodooprojects.org/index.php/topic,567.0.html Ethernet Fix: By default the Marvell Yukon drivers iDeneb installs does not work with our cards. To fix this simply follow the walk through in this guide. http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...st&p=950813 To get sleep working with lid closure: This is actually quite simple. Simply download this file and install it with OSX86Tools. After the installation and restart sleep will work properly with closure of your lid. http://www.filefactory.com/file/ag596f6/n/...isplay_kext_zip Congratulations! After that everything should be working except wireless. At the moment there are no working Intel Pro-Wireless 3945 drivers. They are working on them though. Keep an eye on this site hopefully they should be available soon! http://projectcamphor.mercurysquad.com/ Edit: I forgot to mention that this guide should work on other DV25XX. Most of the hardware in the 2500 series was all the same except for the RAM size and Processor size.
Fernando C
Thanks! Nice guide. I use it and works well but I still having problems with sleep. Have you installed Snow Leopard on your Dv2550se? I'll try to do it but if you know an effective method to install Snow please tell us your experience. Thanks! I'll wait for your response.
