So, i bought a MBP about three days ago... and it's been running incredibly hot...

currently, my hardware monitor says it's running at 115 degrees farenheit...

just curious if this is "within specs."

it's incredibly hot.

yep, that seems to be within spec. that's not bad at all, to be honest.

mine's running at 123 F or 51 C

if you compare to some others, they're running at like 70C +

that's so insane!

i just wanted to make sure :) thanks for clearing it up. it's still an insanely hot temperature.

what are the gpu/ram clocks for the 17 inch mbp? are they the same as the 15 inch mbp or has apple clocked the x1600 at stock? im assuming that they are at stock since the 17 inch mbp offers more volume so that will probably reduce the overall heat giving apple the ability to clock the 17 inch mbp x1600 higher than the 15 inch. ofcourse if they just made the damn mbp a little thicker (maybe 1/4 inch - 1/2 inch thicker) they could probably clock it at its rated speed!

My MacBook (non-pro) is sitting here, running MSN for Mac, iTunes and Safari. It is charging off the AC. Keyboard is warmish, nothing I would cry over.

62degrees C @ 1.5ghz

I wouldnt call that bad tbh. The CPU may well be at 63, but i know Intel chips do run hot.

At the end of the day, if it breaks within a year - Ill get it fixed. If it doesnt break, I'll get apple care.
