Ouch
Can you tell us more about how you connect to the VPN (Ethernet, over your internet connection) and what sort of internet connection you have (ADSL, Cable, Dial-Up?) When you say your local connection stops do you mean you get disconnected or you just can't send/recieve traffice?

Ouch
So when you connect to the internet using your VPN PPTP you loose the ability to communicate with nodes on your local area network?
jgrimes80
I've had the same problem using a wireless network and ethernet at the same time... what worked for me was to connect via ethernet first, then turn on airport... odd huh?

Severnya
This is because any traffic for 192.168.X.X (local machines) isnt in the same subnet as your VPN connection. This means OS X wangs t off to the router you get the internet through. Anybody got a good fix for this?? I'd be interested to know.
