Building a Core i7 Hackintosh

I have been successfully running Hackintosh for sometime now. I want to build a new system that will run Snow Leopard exclusively when it comes out in September. I want to get high end parts - looking to spend around $2500.

My main question is this: Should I go for a Core i7 or a Core2Quad? Will the Core i7 run stable, solid, and install smoothly, or is it still a hassle?

Once that is decided, I am looking for hardware recommendations... i.e. ATI 4870 vs evga GTX 285 (I see both are now officially supported); mobo, etc.

Also - any reason why I would have trouble using a SSD boot drive and then 2 HDDs in RAID-1 for video?

Thanks for the advice!
