SLVR6
It appears Dell isn't the king of cheap laptops anymore. Actually, i speced out a Latitude 620 with similar spec to the MacBook 2.0ghz and Dell was a little cheaper still, now insight camera though, but a 14.1" screen vs 13.3". Just not as nice looking either! If the Dell had not been on sale (which Dell's always seem to be) it would have been about $50 more thought ($1350 vs $1299). Kudos to Apple for pricing the MacBooks (with good processing power) at an affordable range! My wife is seriously considering ebaying her Thinkpad (R40 Pentium M 1.3 Ghz) and getting a MacBook. Colonel
Mac prices might go down with Core Duo prices dropping http://www.digitimes.com/mobos/a20060518PR209.html
A Nonny Moose
Yeah, the Core Duo chips are fairly new and as such, they are kind of expensive. We might get a price drop as Intel prices drop. Or Apple will keep charging the same price and then we'll wonder why Dell is selling CD laptops for $2.
