It seems the Decryption has changed and the existing decrypters (dsmos / appleDecrypter) don't work for you hackintosh users.

There are some decrypted files floating around to get you back in business if you upgraded and are stuck.

Actually, I think it's been there at least since 10A411, as I found out reading my machine's logs:

Jul 21 08:04:02 localhost kernel[0]: Waiting for DSMOS...

Jul 21 08:04:41 localhost kernel[0]: DSMOS has arrived

Anyway, running fine both on MacBook 1G and MacBook Pro 13".

My Macbook hasn't kernel panicked since I put SL on it, in fact a Leopard kernel panic was what got me pissed off and wiped it :(

10A421A perfectly solid here.

How did you get 10A421 to work. I do not get kernel panic but it just wont boot. I read on apple developer forum that 10A421 required all kexts to be 64bit

Can you post how you did and what bootloader are you using?

This looks like an OSx86 question, which like I explicitly stated earlier, is not allowed in this subforum, which is for real Macs only.

I clicked "software update", "install", and it installed.

On real Macs the bootloader is built into the EFI firmware in the motherboard, unlike a traditional PC BIOS.

I have a MacBook Air and I can't get 10A421 to work at all. I ran Software Update, installed it, and then after boot it just sits at the Apple logo with the spinning wheel forever. I started it up in single-user mode and I can get to the command-line, but if I start it up in verbose mode it just stops doing anything after it says "Airport: RSN handshake completed on en0." One time it gave a warning after the Airport line about how it was ignoring the dylib cache because something was made using an old version of libSystem.dylib, but the second time I booted it just did nothing after the RSN handshake completed.

Any ideas?

My Macbook 4,1 sat for a long time with the gray screen and Apple logo/spinning wheel, but eventually came out of it. Every time I booted after the first it was fine though.

How long is "a long time"? After I read your message I let my MacBook Air (June 2009) sit for over an hour and there was no visible progress. I think this version of Snow Leopard may just hate MBAs.
